Delaware 4-H announces winners of statewide Equine Art Contest

8:14 a.m., May 29, 2012--Delaware 4-H recently announced the winners of the statewide Equine Art Contest sponsored by the Delaware 4-H Horse Advisory Committee. More than 70 entries from 30 4-H members were submitted in categories ranging from pastels to photography. The artwork is on display at Chick’s Saddlery in Harrington through the end of this month.

The Best in Show Champion Award went to 16-year-old Hannah Ziccarelli from Holler-N-Hooves 4-H Club and the Best in Show Reserve Champion Award was received by Kristen Hedstrom, age 11, a member of the Peach Blossom 4-H Club.

National Medal of Science

President Barack Obama recently presented the National Medal of Science to University of Delaware alumnus Rakesh Jain.

Warren Award

Rosalind Johnson, assistant dean for student success in the NUCLEUS Program in UD's College of Arts and Sciences, was presented the John Warren Excellence in Leadership and Service Award during a May 26 ceremony.
