Cultural Programming Advisory Board to present Rick Ross in concert

8:58 a.m., March 19, 2012--Rap artist Rick Ross will perform at 8 p.m., Thursday, April 26, at the Bob Carpenter Center on the University of Delaware campus in Newark, and tickets are still available.

The UD Cultural Programming Advisory Board spring concert also will feature special guest Meek Mill.

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Tickets cost $28 in advance for UD students, with a limit of four tickets with a valid University ID, and $40 for the general public.

Tickets are available at all UD box offices and through Ticketmaster outlets.

Ross released his first album Port of Miami in 2006. He since has released three additional albums, Trilla in 2008, Deeper Than Rap in 2009 and Teflon Don in 2010, and was named MTV's Hottest MC in the Game in 2011.

A new album, God Forgives, I Don't, is due out this year.

Meek Mill is a rapper from Philadelphia who has signed with Ross' Maybach Music Group. He released his first single Tupac Back in 2011, and followed with Ima Boss, which reached No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
