Warren Award

Rosalind Johnson, assistant dean for student success in the NUCLEUS Program in UD's College of Arts and Sciences, was presented the John Warren Excellence in Leadership and Service Award during a May 26 ceremony.

According to Dan Freeman, associate professor of business administration in the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics and faculty director of the Entrepreneurial Studies Program, “All of the presentations were great, and we hope that all of the students who participated will seek to become licensees of the University’s Venture Development Center so that we can support them as they attempt to validate, launch, and grow their businesses.”

A panel consisting of four seasoned entrepreneurs, investors and startup consultants evaluated the presentations and selected three teams to advance to the competition’s final round.

Finalists are:

  • Mobiletech Orthopedics, led by Alexander Razzook (College of Health Sciences)
  • Xling, led by Beau Jones and Mike Devine (both Lerner College); and
  • Chimpflix, led by Tim Walsh (College of Engineering).

The final round of Hen Hatch will take place during the 2012 UD President’s Forum on Innovation and Entrepreneurship to be held April 19 in the Multipurpose Rooms of the Trabant University Center. More than $40,000 in startup cash and services will be awarded.
