April 3: 'Brahms and Friends'
Music sets second of three-part presentation on Brahms, contemporaries
1:08 p.m., April 2, 2012--The University of Delaware Department of Music will offer the second of a three-part concert series, "Brahms and Friends," at 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, in the Gore Recital Hall of the Roselle Center for the Arts.
The series will conclude with a performance at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 22.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for senior adults and $3 for students and will be available at the door the evening of the performances. Payment is by cash or check only.
The presentations feature music for violin and piano, and for cello and piano, by Brahms and his contemporaries.
Performing will be Kate Ransom, violin, and Lawrence Stomberg, cello, both members of the Serafin String Quartet, UD's quartet in residence. Joining them will be faculty artist pianist Julie Nishimura.
The featured repertoire includes Brahms' G Major Violin Sonata and e minor Cello Sonata, as well as Robert Schumann's Five Pieces in Folk Style for Cello and Piano.
