Terms and Conditions

The Flex Flexible spending account is an optional feature of University ID card and is available to each student, faculty and staff member who has a valid University of Delaware ID. A fee will be charged for the replacement of lost, stolen or damaged cards.

Cash withdrawals are not permitted.

A Flex account is not transferable and the card must be presented in person. Additional identification may be required for certain purchases. Flex may also be used to pay for a guest's transactions.

The account holder is responsible for suspending a lost or stolen card by calling UD1-CARD (831-2273). You will not be held accountable for any Flex transactions once you have reported your card lost or stolen. If you have a question about a transaction, contact the Flex Office as soon as possible. We must hear from you no later than 60 days from the date of the transaction in question.

The terms of this agreement commence when the initial deposit is received, and expire upon graduation, termination of employment, or when the account is otherwise closed.

Flex account holders may request, at any time, a statement of transactions by going to the Service Desk at the Student Services Building. Statements will be issued only upon request. Account balance information is available by calling UD1-CARD (requires use of UD PIN), at most locations where the Flex account is accepted, at Value Transfer Stations (VTS), and via UD SIS on the web.

Any balance remaining in the Flex account at the expiration of this agreement will be refunded according to published University policy after all University of Delaware obligations have been satisfied.

Merchandise will be accepted for return according to the return policy in force where the goods or services were purchased. Cash refunds will not be made for returned merchandise purchased with Flex. A credit will be made to the Flex account.

The Flex account holder agrees to abide by all sales, regulations, policies, and procedures as specified by the University and the Flex program. Violations of such rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures may result in cancellation of a Flex account holder's privileges. Future changes in terms and conditions regulating the use of the University ID card and Flex account will apply to all cards/accounts in circulation and in use at the time and will supersede the terms and conditions in effect at the time the card/account was acquired.
