Q1: "Do I use the standards or the GLE's when making my KUD?"
Q2: "Should I wait until the State of Delaware makes all of the KUD's and Student Learning Maps? I don't want to have to do these again."
Q3: "In toolbox, how can I save a copy of my unit so I can put them on a flash drive?"
Do I use the standards or the GLE's when making my KUD?
ANSWER 1: It depends on your content area. All content areas should use standards, except for Mathematics. They use GLE's for the most part.
Should I wait until the State of Delaware makes all of the KUD's and Student Learning Maps? I don't want to have to do these again.
ANSWER 2: No, you should not wait. There is no specific timeline for when and if the state will supply completed KUDs and Student Learning Maps for all of K-12. Much progress has been made, but even if they are delivered, it is important that you know HOW to make a KUD and a Student Learning Map. Of course, you should do whatever is expected in your district."
In toolbox, how can I save a copy of my unit so I can put them on a flash drive?
ANSWER 3: At the bottom-right of the document (in toolbox) you will see two buttons. One says SAVE, and the other says VIEW/PRINT. Click VIEW/PRINT, then on the next page, click RETURN. This will allow you to save the document as a PDF only. If you wish to share the document with a colleague, your district can set up sharing parameters, so that you can observe documents from other teachers in your district.
