Human Resources News & Information

News you need

Parking deductions

Due to recent federal tax laws, all employee parking deductions will be withheld on a post-tax basis (spread over two pays), rather than pre-tax, effective with the first pay received after September 1, 2018. Contact parking services for permit costs.

FYI

Workplace Perspectives - Spreading respect in the workplace

Join us for a discussion on July 26 from 10-11:30 a.m. with Paul L. Marciano, Ph.D, a leading authority and best-selling author on employee engagement and respect in the workplace. The event will be held in the Trabant Multipurpose Room. Register to attend.

Tuition benefits

The University offers a variety of educational assistance programs to meet the needs of our faculty, staff or eligible family members, including tuition remission, which waives tuition for a full-time matriculated undergraduate spouse or eligible child attending UD. (Those in the tuition remission program will not be required to pay the differential charge being implemented for students in the College of Engineering, the Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics and the School of Nursing.) Learn more about tuition benefits.

Healthcare savings

Copays for healthcare services like lab work, imaging and urgent care vary depending on where you go. Choosing in-network, preferred facilities that are not hospital affiliated for these services can save you time and money. Visit the Statewide Benefits Office website to learn more about options for Aetna and Highmark Delaware members. At the end of July, the Statewide Benefits Office will be mailing out supplemental information cards that highlight copay changes for Highmark Comprehensive PPO and Aetna HMO members.

Facilities, Real Estate & Auxiliary Services

Need to report a problem or submit a request related to UD grounds or facilities? The Customer Service Center processes all customer requests and inquiries related to facilities, real estate and auxiliary services. You can report a problem, find a contractor and suppliers, view your work order status and more. Visit the Center.

Tracking hours (FLSA)

All non-exempt staff are required to track and report their hours to be in compliance with the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). To help standardize the process, HR has created a timesheet for your use covering July 2018 through June 2019, which you can find on ConnectingU. If you haven’t already created a new spreadsheet, please start using this file for tracking hours. Learn more about FLSA through our online overview available on ConnectingU.
