Benefits open enrollment: May 6-24

The 2019 flexible benefits open enrollment period will be May 6 through 24. During this time, benefit-eligible employees may review or change their benefits online, including adding or removing dependents, changing coverage for health, dental or vision insurance, or changing to a different level of disability and/or life insurance. Learn more.

Benefits & Wellbeing Fair: May 15

The annual Benefits & Wellbeing Fair will be held May 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University Center. Benefits providers, health agencies and UD organizations will be available to answer questions regarding UD employee/retiree benefits and resources. Also, Employee Health & Wellbeing will be on site to provide free biometric health screenings. Please register for your screening.

Georgetown and Lewes enrollment sessions

On May 21, HR staff and Employee Health and Wellbeing will be at UD’s Georgetown campus (9 a.m.-noon) and Lewes campus (1-4 p.m.) to discuss the 2019 benefits open enrollment and provide retirement information. Representatives from TIAA will also be available to conduct individual counseling sessions. Learn more.

Retirement workshops and information booth

TIAA will be hosting one-hour retirement workshops on the Newark campus on May 1. The session, titled "Money at Work 1: Foundations of Investing," will provide an overview of the various investment options available, risk and savings principles to meet your financial needs. TIAA will also host a general information booth on these days for general questions and assistance with accounts, no appointment necessary. Learn more and register for a workshop.

Faculty retirement information sessions

Human Resources will be holding a retirement information session for faculty to discuss retirement planning and the rule of 80 retirement criteria from 2-3 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, at the Center for Composite Materials, 101 Academy St., room 106. No registration is required.

New hiring tools

In support of the UD Talent Link launch earlier this month, the HR ATLAS in ConnectingU has been updated with new procedures and job aids. You can find the new content in the Recruit/Hire area as well as in UD Talent Link Job Aids. We will also be adding UD Talent Link training videos in the coming weeks.

Work-life

Take your children to work

Human Resources will host Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Thursday, April 25. A variety of group activities will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., allowing children ages 8-17 to accompany you during the workday. Please complete the survey by noon on Wednesday, April 24.

Conversations in healthcare

Learn how to make the most of your healthcare provider visit in the upcoming Conversations in Healthcare, Wellbeing and Prevention panel discussion on Tuesday, April 23 from 5-6:30 p.m. This event is open to the public. Registration is required.
