Dear Colleague,

The performance appraisal is a vital tool for both employees and managers. It is a time to provide valuable feedback and have a comprehensive discussion about an employee’s progress as it relates to the mission and goals of the department and the University.

The system is now open for employees to begin the first step in the process, their self-appraisal. The assessment period measures performance from Feb. 1, 2019 until Jan. 31, 2020. Completed appraisals are due back to HR by March 31, 2020.

To begin your appraisal, go to, scroll to the bottom of the list and open the “Performance Appraisal 2019–2020” link.

To help you set goals, we encourage you to participate in an online course, Setting Effective Goals. You may request departmental training on any aspect of the annual appraisal by emailing Talent Development.
