News you need

Responding to COVID-19

University officials continue to monitor the COVID-19 virus situation and are providing daily updates on the UD website about its current status and the impact on the University community. The period for faculty and staff to work from home is being extended to April 13. Until then, only essential operations will be carried out on campus. We will update you as new guidance becomes available in case this period needs to be extended.

The UD website has the latest FAQs with guidance on health-care coverage, child-care arrangements, hiring and remote working, including teleworking tips, a checklist for managers, information on flexible work arrangements and technology help.

For those feeling stressed or overwhelmed, the University provides all employees, their spouses, dependents, parents, and in-laws access to counseling services through an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at no additional cost. To access the program, call 800-343-2186 or visit their website. (If using the website, enter the "State of Delaware" in the log-in box.)

Performance appraisals

The deadline for faculty and staff performance appraisals has been extended to April 30. For more information and to get started, review the instructions and forms on the Talent Development web page, and talent development resources are available in ConnectingU on the HR ATLAS tab under Performance.

FYI

Telemedicine

Telemedicine is available to active faculty and staff enrolled in the Highmark and Aetna health plans. Physician consultations are performed via telephone or online for non-emergency medical issues, such as coughs, sinus infections, sore throats, fevers, flu, colds, skin rashes and headaches. Telemedicine is an excellent alternative to when your primary care provider’s office is closed, when you are unable to get an appointment immediately or when you are traveling and away from home. For more information, visit Highmark (Amwell and Doctor on Demand) or Aetna (Teledoc).
