Aetna lab changes for 2018

Aetna has extended lab coverage services to include LabCorp (in addition to Quest Diagnostics) for State of Delaware Group Health Insurance Plan participants. This will allow University of Delaware employees carrying Aetna HMO and CDH Gold plans the option to choose either provider for lab services. (LabCorp continues to be the only preferred lab for Highmark Delaware.) Learn more about UD health care plans.

Weather closings

When severe weather strikes the area, UD employees have several options to find out if the University will be closed, open late or close early. Please remember that safety is UD's highest priority, and no one should put themselves at risk. Employees who expect difficulty traveling should contact their supervisors. Visit UDaily for more details.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) deadline

For employees enrolled in a 2017 FSA through ASIFlex, there is a grace period that allows you to continue incurring expenses into 2018; that period ends March 15. Participants must file any outstanding claims for reimbursement by May 1. Any remaining unused balance from the 2017 plan year will be forfeited at the end of the grace period, per IRS regulations. Learn more about FSAs including eligible expenses and how to submit a claim.
