Janet de Vry, University of Delaware

Julius Bianchi, California Lutheran University

Julius Bianchi of California Lutheran University and Janet de Vry of the University of Delaware will build on their successful collaboration doing preconference tutorials at EDUCOM'97, CAUSE97, CAUSE98 and Educause99, Educause 2000, and SIGUCCS 2000 to offer a "Recent Developments in Teaching with Technology" poster session. This poster session will showcase recent, exemplary faculty work in teaching with technology and current trends in faculty technology development.

This poster session will enable participants to discuss what strategies have worked in different environments and what we and other institutions have learned recently by developing specific strategies and applying appropriate learning tools. We will provide a forum for those User Services professionals who would appreciate getting feedback on efforts they are contemplating or who would like to explore the relationship between sound pedagogical principles and the effective use technology in the teaching and learning process. We will include graphics on our poster on illustrating sound pedagogical principles, the eight essential elements of successful faculty technology development, and the use of student technology assistants. We will include several enlarged photographs of faculty and their projects. The real power of the poster session will be the dialogue with the co-presenters with the ability to access interactive PowerPoint pages and useful web resources on the web while discussing the issues.

We will bring two laptops configured with PowerPoint and a Web browser. We will need two ethernet connections and appropriate IP addresses to access the Web.
