Jim Rich's Current Projects
In addition to my
areas of
responsibility, I am currently working
on the following projects:
- Installation of a Windows NT server in the
Cannon public site. All systems are
running Windows 95 and the NT server now allows users to retain their settings no
matter which system they log in from (using profiles).
- Developing a system for distance education using the world wide web and a RealVideo server.
Students will be able to attend calsses from anywhere with a web connection.
- Teaching weekly lunch time seminars to the
College
of Marine Studies Faculty, Staff and Students. Subjects include SigmaPlot 4.0,
Word 97, Excel 97, PowerPoint 97, web page creation, and other applications useful to
the users.
- Working with CMS: Marine Communications to develop and maintain the
college's homepages.
- Configuring presentation graphics system for CMS faculty and students.
- Coordinating the planning and construction of a new Interactive Television (ITV) classroom
at the Lewes Campus.
