The following instructions will help you set up an LDAP directory service in Thunderbird 6 on a Windows computer. The UD LDAP server will allow you to search for University contacts when you are composing a message.
- Open Thunderbird if it is not already open.
- From the Menu bar, click the Address Book icon (the third button from the left).
- From the File menu, click New then click LDAP Directory.
- In the Directory Server Properties window, type the following information:

- Click OK.
- From the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Composition tab then click the Addressing tab below it.
- Select the Directory Server check box.
- From the drop-down list, choose University of Delaware.
- Click OK.
