The following instructions will help you set up an LDAP directory service in Thunderbird on a Mac computer. This will allow you to search for University contacts when you are composing a message.
- Open Thunderbird if it is not already open.
- In the left panel, click your account name (e.g., frank@udel.edu).
- In the panel on the right, click View settings for this account.
- In the left panel, click Composition and Addressing.
- Under Addressing, select the Use a different LDAP server button.
- Click Edit Directories.
- Click the Add button.
- In the new window, type the following information:

- Click OK again.
- From the drop-down list, choose University of Delaware.
- Click OK.
