Special programs -- Hiroshima Institute of Technology

Another energetic and smiling group of students from the Hiroshima Institute of Technology came to the ELI from February 23 to March 16. Group representative Kazuyoshi Tanabe and 10 other students had a full schedule of English classes, tutoring, ice skating, a visit to Harley Davidson Motorcycles in Wilmington, and trips to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and New York City organized by their academic coordinator, Kathy Hankins. The students, who lived with homestay families, sometimes turned into teachers themselves when they went to “the Japanese Table,” where, for a couple of hours every Wednesday, they met on campus with American students studying Japanese.
