Evening of Art

Fabric artist Berna Karanfil from
Turkey displays her appliqué designs.

Under the direction of Mary Beth Worrilow and the orientation committee, ELI debuted its first annual Evening of Art to promote the creative talent of many of its “resident artists.” On a beautiful April evening, visitors to the Institute were treated to a variety of aesthetic works which included appliquéd tablecloths, designer jewelry, master origami, charcoal sketches and marble sculpture. Accompanying the visual art were Yemeni musicians, whose lutes and guitars created a lovely gallery-type atmosphere enjoyed by all.

Anindita Das from India shares her drawings.
