UD STEM Students Excel at Regional Research Conference

Twenty-eight University of Delaware students presented research posters at 14th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium in the Chemical and Biological Sciences at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, on October 22. Over 200 students from 40 schools competed for first or second place awards in 35 judging groups. UD students received first place awards in eleven, over half, of the groups in which they competed. In addition, three students received second place awards. The group was accompanied by Prof. Hal White, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry and Director of the UD Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Undergraduate Science Education Program that sponsored the trip.
