Session Description
(For Macintosh users only)
Capturing and editing digital video is an important skill for representing your ideas. Whether you are editing video to meet your presentation needs or working on a video project assignment, this session will give you the necessary understanding of the video capturing and editing process.
Participants will complete a basic hands-on video editing exercise.
Session Duration and Availability
This is a 50-minute session. Check the calendar for availability and register online. This session is also available upon request by faculty for incorporation into their courses. Faculty are also encouraged to arrange individual consultations for project planning and technical assistance.
Prerequisites
No prerequisites are necessary for this session.
This session will use iMovie HD 6 and not the newer version of iMovie 7. In the Student Multimedia Design Center, the iMovie HD icon appears in the Apple Dock, although both versions are available through the Applications folder.
iMovie HD 6, previously distributed with iLife ’06, is available for download for those who have purchased and installed iLife ’08.
Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will understand:
- how to capture video
- how to edit video clips
- how to add music to their video
- how to save their video to view it and share it
