Proposals for special sessions and panels may contain the following information: i) rationale for the topic in a special session/panel, ii) short summary of issues to be discussed, iii) names, addresses, & qualification of the participants and a letter indicating that their approval is obtained. Review procedure, length, & style guidelines will apply to competitive papers and abstracts included in the special sessions. Please contact Lalita Manrai for special sessions/panels. For papers which may be more appropriate for one of the Congress Tracks, please contact your nearest Track Chair.

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Submit three double-spaced typed copies of your completed paper or detailed abstract to the appropriate track chair on or before December 15, 1996. Papers must follow the style guidelines of the Journal of Academy of Marketing Science, and should not exceed 12 pages in total. Please submit a 3" by 5" index card with the name of the paper and the names(s) of the authors and the address and telephone number of the contact person.
  2. Papers will be double blind reviewed. Please do not identify yourself on any page other than the title page.
  3. Submission of a paper for review indicates that it or a similar version has not been previously published or is not simultaneously under review elsewhere. At least one author must be a member in good standing of the Academy of Marketing Science or be willing to join the Academy if the paper is accepted.
  4. The conference will accept papers and allow authors to decide whether to only publish an abstract or full paper in the Proceedings.
  5. Upon acceptance, the author(s) agree to: a) release the copyright to the Academy of Marketing Science unless they choose to publish only the abstract, b) return the paper in correct format on a diskette to the Proceeding editors, and c) at least one author will present the paper at the conference and must pre-register as a condition for acceptance and publication.
  6. Authors of accepted papers must submit both a hard copy and a diskette. There is 4 page proceedings length limit. For each page over four, there will be a US$25-per-page charge, which must be paid to "World Marketing congress 1997," when you submit the final paper.
