Using the strauss computer to check on your scheduled experiments.

 


At least once every other day, you should log on to the "strauss" computer, using the same username and password you use to do your e-mail. Be sure that you log on to strauss, and not to copland.

Logging on to the Research Participation Program:

1.  Log on to strauss, not copland.  (Use the same username and password you use to do e-mail. But be sure the computer you’re logging on to is strauss.)

2.  Once you’re logged on to strauss, type cd ~kuhlman (There is a space between cd and ~kuhlman.  There is no space
between  ~  (the tilde character) and kuhlman.

3.  Next type research.out  (Be sure to include the period between research and out)

4.  This will take you to the Research Participation Program Main Menu.  At this point if you read the screen carefully, things are pretty self-explanatory.

5.  When you have exited the Research Participation Program, you can log off strauss.
