As a
die-hard liberal I admit, with chagrin, that it was our nation's
current Commander-in-Chief who convinced me on the importance of a
sound rhetoric background. His provocative curiousity in America's
educational framework prompted both my desire to refine my own
compositional abilities and also insure that others see the importance
of clear and concise sentances. I hope, through such endeavors as the
Writing Fellows Program, that we call answer Mr. President with a
resounding "YES!" to his inquiry: "Rarely is the question asked: Is
our children learning?"
