First Friday Roundtable series scheduled Sept. 11 in Gore Hall


1:06 p.m., Sept. 8, 2015--The First Friday Roundtable series will hold its first event of the fall semester on Friday, Sept. 11. These monthly discussion sessions provide an opportunity for University of Delaware faculty members and graduate students to examine teaching, learning and assessment practices and issues.

The first offering for this fall, “Teaching at UD: Workshop for New Faculty,” will be held from 3:30-5 p.m. in 208 Gore Hall. New faculty — and all those curious about teaching resources — are encouraged to attend to find out about the latest teaching resources on campus.

June 6: UDid It! Picnic

All UD faculty and staff members are invited to attend the annual UDid It! employee appreciation picnic, set from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, June 6, on The Green.

Guests for this interactive session include Lynn Okagaki, deputy vice provost, and Chris Lucier, vice president for enrollment management. Participants can look forward to learning about UD students and touring teaching spaces and library resources. The session will close with a UDairy Creamery ice cream treat. The First Friday Roundtable series will continue this fall with the theme of student motivation. The remaining sessions will focus on motivating students through community engagement, using classroom response tools, and by evaluating teaching fairly.
