Cecil Dybowski to present Francis Alison Inaugural Lecture
3:02 p.m., Sept. 29, 2015--Cecil Dybowksi, recipient of the University of Delaware's 2015 Francis Alison Faculty Award, will present the Francis Alison Inaugural Lecture at 4 p.m., Monday, Oct. 26, in the Gore Recital Hall of the Roselle Center for the Arts.
His topic will be "Magnetic Resonance and Materials Chemistry."

Those planning to attend the lecture are asked to RSVP by Oct. 16 by sending an email to provost-office@udel.edu. A reception will be held after his talk.
Dybowski, professor of chemistry and biochemistry, received the Alison Award for his work as a world-class researcher, accomplished teacher, mentor and faculty leader.
A member of the Delaware faculty since 1976, he has won numerous awards throughout his career, including the Gold Medal of the Society for Applied Spectroscopy. He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute of Chemists and the Society for Applied Spectroscopy.
His former students hold positions at universities and research laboratories around the world, at major companies and in government and nonprofit agencies.
The Francis Alison Faculty Award is the University's highest competitive faculty honor, established by the Board of Trustees in 1978 to recognize faculty members who best demonstrate the combination of scholarship and teaching exemplified by the Rev. Francis Alison, founder of the institution to which UD traces its roots.
