3:18 p.m., May 3, 2016--The University of Delaware community and the public are invited to visit UD’s Wilmington Campus on Sunday, May 15, for an open house.

The event will highlight the campus and facilities, UD's Conference Services, UD's lifelong learning program, and information about professional development certificate programs.

Events Stories

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

The open house takes place from 1-4 p.m. at UD’s Wilmington Campus on 2700 Pennsylvania Avenue, and will include guided tours of the historic 1732 Goodstay Mansion, Goodstay Gardens and Arsht Hall.

These facilities are administered by UD Conference Services, and are available for public and private events like family celebrations, parties, memorial services or corporate events.

Tours will also highlight UD’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Wilmington, which has its home in Arsht Hall, and provides opportunities for adults 50 and over to learn, teach and travel with their peers.

The UD program enjoys the distinction of being one of the earliest and largest lifelong learning programs in the country. Current lifelong learning members will share their experiences and lead tours at the open house.

Information will also be available about professional development certificate programs that will be held at Arsht Hall in the evenings, beginning this September.

Offered through UD’s Professional and Continuing Studies, fall programs at Arsht will include the Analytics: Optimizing Big Data Certificate, Business Analyst Certificate, Paralegal Certificate, and Project Management Certificate.

The open house event will feature light refreshments, as well as live music provided by ensembles representing the performing arts classes of the lifelong learning program. The UDairy Creamery Moo Mobile ice cream truck will be on site with free ice cream samples.

The event will take place rain or shine. For more details call 573-4401 or 573-4419, or visit these UD websites: Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Wilmington, Conference Services or Professional and Continuing Studies.
