'Spring into Motion'
UD employees invited to compete in University-wide fitness campaign
8:34 a.m., March 8, 2016--For those whose health is stuck in hibernation mode, University of Delaware Employee Health and Wellbeing has just the kick-start.
UD employees, retirees and their spouses are invited to participate in the six-week “Spring into Motion” physical activity campaign. With warmer weather arriving this month, the program seeks to get people back outside and back on track to better health.

“Whether walking or pickup basketball or anything in-between, the type of exercises that count toward the program are totally up to the participant, so long as it gets you moving,” says Ryan Keenan, program coordinator for Employee Health and Wellbeing. “The program provides motivation for all fitness novices, elite athletes and people that simply want to be more active.”
Employees can join a team or participate on an individual basis. The program, features an interactive portal to log steps or minutes as well as tools to set goals, track progress and share and support with other participants.
A “Spring into Motion” app is available for iPhone and Android. Participants can log activity with or without a Fitbit.
The registration period is currently open. To register, visit HealthyU. Access to the portal is provided one-day following registration. Participants start tracking progress on Monday, March 21.
The deadline to form a team is Monday, March 28.
The program ends on May 1 with an awards celebration event. Award categories are listed on the Spring Into Motion webpage.
