Quarterly UD Blue and Gold Excellence Award winners announced

11:03 a.m., Feb. 29, 2016--University of Delaware Facilities, Real Estate and Auxiliary Services (FREAS) has announced its fall quarterly UD Blue and Gold Excellence Awards winners.

Honors Stories

National Medal of Science

President Barack Obama recently presented the National Medal of Science to University of Delaware alumnus Rakesh Jain.

Warren Award

Rosalind Johnson, assistant dean for student success in the NUCLEUS Program in UD's College of Arts and Sciences, was presented the John Warren Excellence in Leadership and Service Award during a May 26 ceremony.

• Mentor/Inspiration/Motivator – Paul Glenn, Shawn Alexander, James Gordon and Dominic Bouchard.
• Client Focus/Customer Satisfaction – Christina Caruso.
• Innovation – Felix Lopez.
• Community Impact – Beverly Smith, Lisa Hutton, Ana Quimones, Brenda Ball, Edward Lang, Noah Dillard, James Maguire and Zachary Patterson.
• Outstanding Contribution to Continuous Improvement – Mike Woodin, Timmie Mirza and Rich McCarthy.

“This program has been created to celebrate the achievements of the FREAS workforce,” said Peter Krawchyk, FREAS interim vice president. “The awards are aligned to emphasize the strengths and best practices of the FREAS team. These winners are being recognized for their outstanding contributions to the University.”

There has been an excellent response to the UD Blue and Gold Excellence Awards program across the campus, and 73 nominations were received from the UD community. 

As a reminder, this is an annual program. Nominations for outstanding performances in the winter quarter can be made by any UD employee, contractor or affiliate. Nomination forms and criteria can be accessed by visiting the FREAS website and going to the Excellence Award tab.
