Organization for first generation college students sets panel discussion

2:53 p.m., Feb. 15, 2016--We’re First, an organization for first generation college students at the University of Delaware, will hold a faculty and staff panel discussion at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 17, in the Harrington Commons.

The event is designed to help students connect with UD faculty and staff members who identify as first generation college students and to discuss the experience of first generation students.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Speaking will be Carol Henderson, vice provost for diversity; Jason Kong, residence hall coordinator; Joyce Henderson, assistant director, Career Services Center; J.P. Laurenceau, Unidel A. Gilchrist Sparks III Chair of Psychological and Brain Sciences; and Tara Falcone, academic program, NUCLEUS, College of Arts and Sciences.

The event is sponsored by Residence Life and Housing, Firstgen Network, We’re First and the vice provost for diversity.
