Adelante, Kente Stole ceremonies mark achievements of graduating students

8:51 a.m., Feb. 15, 2016--The University of Delaware will hold the Adelante graduation ceremony for Latino/Hispanic students and the Kente Stole graduation ceremony for black students, both on Friday, May 27.

The deadline for registration for the ceremonies is Monday, March 14. For details, contact the Center for Black Culture at 831-2991 or cbc-mail@udel.edu.

Both of the annual ceremonies recognize the achievements of graduating students while affirming the contributions of family members and supporters.

The Adelante ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m., Friday, May 27, in the West Lounge of the Perkins Student Center.

The Kente Stole ceremony will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, May 27, in Clayton Hall. The Kente Stoles are worn as an acknowledgement of African ancestry to symbolize accomplishment, community, unity and pride.
