As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

Guests of the Rodney Dining Fresh Food Company will have the ability to choose from a variety of freshly prepared and made-to-order meals from several action cooking stations. Every station is in clear view of the customers who will see every menu item being prepped, cooked and served in front of them.

A total of 13 points of service will be available including a Mongolian station, a gluten-free station, a vegan station, and an OU supervised kosher dining station. Other favorites will include a full-service bakery and two separate fresh produce markets.

The Rodney Dining Fresh Food Company has a total of 1,180 seats, with a variety of seating options available throughout the facility, including high top tables, booths, banquettes and window seating overlooking the Grove and Academy Street.

“The Rodney Dining Fresh Food Company will offer a restaurant-style experience right on campus,” said Sue Bogan, director of Dining Services.  “Customers will enjoy a variety of fresh, healthy food choices served in a fun, comfortable dining environment.”

The Fresh Food Company will offer healthy food options, as well as regional and traditional favorites.  Menus will feature items such as:
