Undergraduate researchers invited to learn more about Vertically Integrated Projects program
10:13 a.m., April 7, 2016--Undergraduate students are invited to learn more about the University of Delaware’s participation in Georgia Tech’s Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) Consortium at an information session from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, in 134 Spencer Lab. Pizza and sodas will be provided.
Aimed at driving systemic reform of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education, VIP unites undergraduate education and faculty research in a team-based context, with undergraduate students earning academic credits and faculty benefiting from the design/discovery efforts of their teams.

June 6-9: Food and culture series
The initial two-year grant will support three teams led by faculty in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Fouad Kiamilev will direct a project on grid-integrated vehicles; Mark Mirotznik will supervise a team developing e-textiles for continuous health monitoring; and Andrew Novocin will lead a group addressing security schemes for cloud computing.
All three of the faculty advisers are currently seeking students from a variety of disciplines including mathematics, electrical and computer engineering, management information systems, biomedical engineering, and computer and information sciences who are interested in participating in the program.
Program expansion in the future will broaden the scope to include a variety of other disciplines, including health sciences, criminal justice, and all branches of engineering.
