TEXT SIZE

10:13 a.m., April 7, 2016--Undergraduate students are invited to learn more about the University of Delaware’s participation in Georgia Tech’s Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) Consortium at an information session from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, in 134 Spencer Lab. Pizza and sodas will be provided.

Aimed at driving systemic reform of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education, VIP unites undergraduate education and faculty research in a team-based context, with undergraduate students earning academic credits and faculty benefiting from the design/discovery efforts of their teams.

Events Stories

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

The initial two-year grant will support three teams led by faculty in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Fouad Kiamilev will direct a project on grid-integrated vehicles; Mark Mirotznik will supervise a team developing e-textiles for continuous health monitoring; and Andrew Novocin will lead a group addressing security schemes for cloud computing.

All three of the faculty advisers are currently seeking students from a variety of disciplines — including mathematics, electrical and computer engineering, management information systems, biomedical engineering, and computer and information sciences — who are interested in participating in the program.

Program expansion in the future will broaden the scope to include a variety of other disciplines, including health sciences, criminal justice, and all branches of engineering.
