April 15: 'Reaching Back, While Moving Forward'
Indianapolis Colt, UD alum Mike Adams to discuss his experiences, service
11:26 a.m., April 6, 2016--Mike (Pops) Adams, defensive back for the NFL Indianapolis Colts and a University of Delaware alumnus, will visit campus for an outreach colloquium sponsored by the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at 4 p.m., Friday, April 15, in 104 Gore Hall.
Adams’ presentation, “Reaching Back, While Moving Forward,” will discuss his ability to overcome life’s obstacles and succeed in professional football, and how he used his degree in human services to start several foundations. His current project, Team Adams, is focused on helping at-risk children in New Jersey.

Adams graduated from UD in 2004, was a co-captain of the national championship football team in 2003, and won several honors as a student-athlete.
After graduation, Adams joined the San Francisco 49ers and then signed with the Cleveland Browns in 2007. He played for the Denver Broncos before signing with the Colts.
In 2012, Adam’s visited UD and spoke with students about the support he received from mentors and advisers in the College of Education and Human Development.
