“UDance is a well established and well respected presence on UD's campus and their dedication to fighting childhood cancer is admirable,” said UDFS President Hannah Kimberly. “As September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to partner with UDance and raise money to help support childhood cancer research and treatment. We truly believe in this cause and are excited to be partnered with such an incredible organization for this show.”
The ice show will feature many of the UDFS team members performing exhibition and competitive programs, as well as some interesting group numbers. This show is also a way for the team to prepare for its upcoming competitive season as its tries to defend its national championship and go for a fifth national title.
“Coming off of two national titles, and four high scoring records in the previous two years, UDFS has a huge amount of momentum going into this coming season,” said Beth Kalbach, secretary for the organization. “I am so excited to spend the fall semester training with all of the new freshmen and returning members in preparation for our spring competitions.”
There will also be several guest skaters featured in the show including Ben Jalovick, 2014 U.S. national competitor, and Emmanuel Savary, 2009 U.S. intermediate men’s national champion and Team USA international competitor.
Tickets are $8 at the door and $5 with UD student ID. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase for a chance to win a variety of baskets.
