Art History on the Steps series sets discussion on 'The Monuments Men'

11:14 a.m., Nov. 12, 2014--The Art History on the Steps series at the University of Delaware will present a discussion about the film The Monuments Men at 5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 13, in the second floor lobby of Old College.

The Monuments Men is based on the true story of members of the Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives program of the Allied armies who were tasked with finding and saving pieces of art and other culturally important items before their destruction by Adolf Hitler during World War II.

Speakers will be Joyce Hill Stoner, Edward F. and Elizabeth Goodman Rosenberg Professor in Material Culture; Monica Dominguez Torres, associate professor of art history; and Ivan Henderson, curator of education with University Museums.
