UD to hold second annual Homecoming Pep Rally at Independence turf field
1:15 p.m., Sept. 24, 2013--University of Delaware students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends are invited to kick off Homecoming Weekend at the second annual Pep Rally to be held at 4:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11, on the Independence turf field on the Laird Campus.
Guests are encouraged to wear blue and gold to the free event, which will be held rain or shine. Bus transportation will be available for students living on East and West campuses.

Starting at 4:30 there will be special student performances by Deltronica and DJ Slipcase, Dark Arts, Kevin McCove and more.
Master of ceremonies for the pep rally will be Scott Klatzkin, a 2007 graduate and the radio play-by-play announcer for the UD football and men’s basketball teams. The event will feature appearances by coaches and student-athletes.
Other special guests include YoUDee, the dance team, the cheerleaders and new head football coach Dave Brock, who will have short remarks.
Attendees can also take part in creating a giant human interlocking UD and pose for a picture. Fans of UD football are invited to come early to watch the football team as they hold a special practice starting at 5:30 p.m. on the turf field after the rally.
Also, those interested in performing can enter to win a five-minute spot in the Pep Rally. Whether you sing, juggle, or dance, submit an Instagram or Vine video by 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, for a chance to win by tagging it as #UDHCtalent. The winner will be determined by the Student Homecoming Committee and will perform at the rally.
