UD Residence Life and Housing sets annual room decorating contest
8:40 a.m., Feb. 25, 2014--University of Delaware Residence Life and Housing has announced the 2014 Rockin’ Rooms residence hall room decorating contest for on-campus housing residents.
Students are encouraged to submit photos depicting how they have personalized their residence hall areas with creative flair.

To enter, students should submit a photo to Residence Life and Housing by Sunday, March 9. All entries should be submitted via email to reslife-housing@udel.edu with the following information:
- Floor to Wall photo (limited to one photo per entrant);
- Names of all entrants;
- Student ID numbers; and
- Residence hall complex
Winners will be chosen from the following categories:
- Best residence hall room (singles, doubles, suites);
- Best triple or quad (traditional room, not suite);
- Most UD pride (any on-campus room type);
- Best “green” practices (any on-campus room type);
- Best student imprint on a common space or lounge; and
- Best door decoration.
Entrants must specify the category for which they are submitting their photo.
Winners in the first four categories will receive a $100 gift card to the Barnes and Noble University of Delaware Bookstore. Winners in the student imprint in a common space and door decoration categories will receive a $50 gift card to the University Bookstore.
Select photos will also be featured on the University of Delaware’s Pinterest account and various other social media outlets.
Residence Life and Housing reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with the contest rules so be sure to review the guidelines before entering.
All entries will be displayed on the Blue Hen Says Facebook page on Monday, March 10. Students will be able to vote by “liking” each photo.
Voting will end at 5 p.m., Friday, March 14. The photo in each category with the most likes will win. The winner will be notified via email to come pick up their prize and get their photo taken and shared on the Residence Life and Housing Facebook page.
