Lanny Sommese posters featured in retrospective at Recitation Hall Gallery

1:28 p.m., Aug. 28, 2013--“Off the Wall, On the Wall,” a retrospective of the posters of Lanny Sommese, is on view through Sept. 27 in the University of Delaware Department of Art’s Recitation Hall Gallery.

The exhibition features 50 of the most unique posters designed over 50 years by Sommese, a world-renowned graphic designer.

His posters have received significant recognition, including gold medals in the International Biennial of the Poster of Mexico, the Triennial of Stage Poster Sofia, the Colorado Poster Biennial, and the Poster Biennial of Bolivia.

Sommese has exhibited his posters in several one-person national and international exhibitions.

A colloquium presentation concerning the exhibition will be held at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, in 140 Smith Hall.
