Air Band concert at Bob Carpenter Center to close Greek Week

1:17 p.m., April 28, 2014--Air Band, the annual dancing and lip-synching concert that closes out Greek Week at the University of Delaware, will return to the Bob Carpenter Center on Friday, May 2, at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $17 and are on sale now through box offices at Trabant University Center and the Bob Carpenter Center as well as online at the Ticketmaster site.

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Friday's competition will feature 26 of UD's fraternities and sororities, including two chapters back to defend their first place titles: Delta Tau Delta, for their Air Band parody, and Sigma Kappa, for their portrayal of the movie Avatar. 

Participants in the 2014 Air Band include:

Sigma Phi Epsilon, Zeta Beta Tau, Phi Sigma Sigma, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Kappa Sigma, Gamma Phi Beta, Sigma Pi, Theta Chi, Kappa Alpha Theta, Pi Kappa Phi, Alpha Omega Epsilon, Sigma Kappa, and Sigma Nu.

Also, Kappa Delta Rho, Alpha Phi, FIJI, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Lambda Chi Alpha, Chi Omega, Phi Kappa Psi, Delta Gamma, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Sigma Phi, Alpha Epsilon Phi, Delta Tau Delta, and Alpha Xi Delta.
