Nov. 5: Author Hull to speak
Noted author Akasha Hull to speak, sign copies of novel 'Neicy'
1:35 p.m., Oct. 23, 2012--Author Akasha Hull will speak on “Black Women’s Studies: From Theory to Fiction”and sign copies of her newest novel, Neicy, during a presentation from 5-6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 5, in 117 Gore Hall on the University of Delaware campus in Newark.
Hull holds a doctorate in English literature and has taught at various universities, both nationally and internationally, including UD from 1971-88.

Hull’s publications include her powerful 1982 work, All the Women Are White, All the Men Are Black, But Some of Us Are Brave, and her more recent Soul Talk: The Spirituality of African American Women.
Neicy is the product of her many years of theorizing, teaching, and critiquing the lives and work of women, especially African American women.
The presentation is sponsored by the departments of Women and Gender Studies, Black American Studies and English.
