Because of an error by UD in the reporting of the endowment information, a recent report by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) mistakenly listed the University's endowment for the fiscal year at $1,091,726,000.
The University asked NACUBO to correct the figure on its website, which the organization has done. NACUBO figures also are the basis of an annual news story in the Chronicle of Higher Education, which has noted the correct number.
The NACUBO information can be found at this website.
UD is ranked No. 66 in endowment among North American institutions of higher education.
"The University of Delaware is pleased that its alumni and friends continue to support its many important programs through their outstanding generosity, enabling the endowment to continue to grow," said UD Executive Vice President Scott Douglass.
"We take very seriously our responsibility to be good stewards of the funds that have been entrusted to us," Douglass added.
