Faculty artist Sullivan to perform music for harp

8:56 a.m., Feb. 15, 2012--University of Delaware faculty artist Anne Sullivan will perform a concert featuring music for harp at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the Gore Recital Hall of the Roselle Center for the Arts.

Sullivan presents a program that includes J.S. Bach's Partita No. 2 in C Minor, BWV 826, Andre Caplet's Deux Divertissements, Marius Flothuis's Pour le Tombeau d'Orphee and Carlos Salzedo's Variations sur un theme dans le style ancien, Op. 30.

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Tickets cost $12 for adults, $8 for senior adults and $3 for students and will be available at the door the evening of the performance.

About Anne Sullivan

Anne Sullivan began as a concert harpist and appeared twice in the Philadelphia Orchestra at age 12. She went on to graduate from the Curtis Institute of Music and was a faculty member there for 20 years. 

Sullivan is currently a harp instructor at the University of Delaware and Swarthmore College. 

Besides teaching music, she is the author and arranger of more than two-dozen works for the harp and has published a series of ear training books for harp students. Several of her works are available on her website, harpmusicdownloads.com.
