Morris Library to be open around the clock from May 18 until May 25

9:16 a.m., May 10, 2011--The University of Delaware Library announces that the Morris Library will be open 24 hours a day for the final examination period beginning Wednesday, May 18, which is the first Reading Day, through Wednesday, May 25.

On May 25, Morris Library will close at 7 p.m. when the last final exam begins.

Morris Library service desks will be staffed their regular hours (and not overnight). The Morris Library will be staffed by Public Safety employees from midnight until 8 a.m. the next morning when library staff arrive.

As always, library electronic resources will be available 24/7.

“This change comes after a formal request by the Student Government Association to the library, and after careful coordination, planning and support of the University of Delaware Library with Public Safety, and Supporting Services,” said Sandra K. Millard, assistant director for library public services.

Public Safety will provide staffing of the Morris Library during the late night period from May 18-25, extending their library staffing from 2 a.m. until 8 a.m. 

Supporting Services will extend the existing UD shuttle bus schedule that stops at the Morris Library to run until 7 a.m. when the regular daytime schedule begins.
