Treasury and Risk cited him as being "a leader in the exchange’s proposed merger with Deutsche Borse," adding, "As its CFO since 2008, he has steered NYSE Euronext through significant evolution and growth."
The magazine describes those on the list as "the executives, regulators, officials and bankers who have led business and the global economy to a better place."
Before joining NYSE Euronext, Geltzeiler served as president of School and Educational Services for the Reader’s Digest Association. He was the organization’s chief financial officer and senior vice president from 2001 to 2007. In 2005, his responsibilities were expanded to also include oversight for global operations and information technology.
While at ACNielsen Corp. from 1995 to 2001, Geltzeiler served as chief financial officer, senior vice president and controller, and as chief financial officer for ACNielsen Europe, Middle East and Africa.
He held a variety of positions in corporate finance in America and abroad while at the Dun and Bradstreet Corp. from 1980 to 1995.
After graduating from UD, Geltzeiler earned a master of business administration degree in finance from the Stern School of Business of New York University.
Geltzeiler was named to the UD Board of Trustees this year, and continues to serve on the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics Advisory Board.
He was inducted as a member of the UD Alumni Wall of Fame in 2010 and earlier this year was featured in the Lerner College Executive Speaker Series.
Geltzeiler and his wife have established the Michael and Rosann Geltzeiler Scholarship, which is for students of high financial need from the New York City area who are enrolled in the Lerner College.
