Memberships available in UD's Outdoor Pool

10:18 a.m., June 15, 2011--Trying to find ways to keep your cool this summer? Memberships are still available in the University of Delaware Outdoor Pool, and there are special season and daily rates for UD students, faculty and staff.

Located behind the Gold Ice Arena on South College Avenue, the Outdoor Pool is the largest in the state. The 50-meter pool is equipped with pool slides and is kept at a constant comfortable temperature. A fenced-in, 6-inch-deep baby pool is also available for the little ones.

All UD faculty and staff members are invited to attend the annual UDid It! employee appreciation picnic, set from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, June 6, on The Green.

Membership options

Full-time UD employees can get a family membership for $250 or an individual membership for $145. 

A family membership is good for up to four family members, and additional members can be added at $10 each. All family members must be listed as dependents on the 2010 Federal Income Tax form. 

Employees must present their IDs to receive the discount. 

Daily rates

Any UD employee with valid ID can use the pool by paying a $5 daily fee. This charge is also available to UD employee's guests. 

UD undergraduate and graduate students can use the pool by paying $3 per day, and they may bring guests to the pool at the same rate.
