Working from the description of a yellow Mitsubishi Eclipse provided by a witness, police were able to connect him to the incidents.

Three truckloads of stolen property were recovered from his house, including approximately 150 boxes of shoes and photographs. A count has not yet been conducted but police estimate that the boxes contain several thousand shoes. Several fraternity composite pictures also were seized, along with eight guitars, a mandolin, eight snowboards, a surfboard and sports equipment. Investigators have confirmed that shoes recovered last week from Little Elk Creek in Cecil County, Md., were part of the burglar's stash. According to police, the defendant has been stealing shoes in and around Newark for about 20 years.

Rubincan was charged Jan. 29 with 25 counts of second degree burglary, 77 counts of theft and 15 counts of criminal mischief, and his bail has been set at $138,000 cash.
