8:36 a.m., Dec. 7, 2009----University of Delaware Facilities is implementing a new work order system, Maximo, which made its debut Monday, Dec. 7.
Maximo is commonly referred to as a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and will replace the Service Request (SR) system used at UD since 1995.
“Although the Service Request system has served the University well, Maximo will significantly improve reporting capability and bring state-of-the-art technology,” said Brian Schuster, assistant director for Facilities Operations and Maintenance, in announcing the new system.
Following are changes that will affect University customers:
Request for Service - Facilities (RFS) Webform: Minor changes have been made to the RFS, including the addition of a location lookup to identify where you want the work done. With Maximo, as in the past, the RFS will require account administrator approvals. Once the RFS is approved, a Work Order (WO) will be accepted and a Maximo WO number will be returned to the RFS form in the Reference field.
Work Order Cost Reporting: The reporting Web page will change from [https://adm.facil.udel.edu/cgi-bin/cmmlm] to the Maximo UDEL WO Cost Report [http://www.facilities.udel.edu/workordercostreport]. The old Web page can continue to be used for historical reporting (cost incurred prior to the Maximo go live date).
The Maximo UDEL WO Cost Report allows users to look up cost by location (building code) or by Work Order Number for a specified date range.
Routine Work: Calls for routine work will continue to be taken by the Facilities Call Center (831-1141) or by way of e-mail to [fixit@udel.edu]. You may use the following link to identify routine vs. non-routine work: [http://www.facilities.udel.edu/facilitiesroutinevsnon-routinework.aspx].
Non-Routine Work: Facilities Call Center will enforce the existing policy that all non-routine work (other than emergencies) must be submitted using the Request for Service (RFS) Webform.
Work Order Questions: These should be directed to the Facilities Call Center (831-1141).
