10:05 a.m., Jan. 14, 2009----The third annual Downtown Newark Restaurant Week will be held Jan. 19-25.
As part of the event, 18 outstanding downtown Newark restaurants will offer specialty menus highlighting the best they have to offer at the right price.
The event features free parking validation with meal, seasonal decorations, in-restaurant entertainment and also retail specials.
Three tiers of fabulous prix fixe meals are offered, with some restaurants offering more than one tier during the week. Each restaurant develops specific menus for the week according to their clientele.
Participating restaurants, menus and tiers for each restaurant, as well as the full schedule of entertainment for the week, are now available at the Downtown Newark Web site under the events listings.
Tiers:
Friends and Family Fun Meals - Feeds a group of four people for $19.
Luscious Lunches - Features two-course lunches for $9.
Delightful Dinners - Features two-course dinners for $19 and three-course dinners for $25.
A portion of the proceeds from Downtown Newark's Restaurant Week will be donated to the Food Bank of Delaware.
The event is sponsored by the Downtown Newark Partnership, which includes the City of Newark, University of Delaware and local businesses and residential communities.
