Ellen M. Snyder-Grenier is Deputy Director for Special Projects at The New Jersey Historical Society, where she focuses largely on exhibition and research projects. She is currently curating "What Exit? The New Jersey Turnpike Project." She most recently mounted "Pride of Newark, Baseball's Bears & Eagles," "Dining In, Dining Out," winner of an award from AASLH, and "Teenage New Jersey: 1941-1975," which also won an award from AASLH as well as AAM's committee-sponsored Annual Exhibition Competition. Prior to coming to NJHS, she was Chief Curator at The Brooklyn Historical Society, where she curated or was project director for a number of community-based exhibitions, including "Our Borough's Latino Voices" and "Brooklyn's History Museum." She is the author of Brooklyn! An Illustrated History (Temple University Press), winner of the 1997 New York Society Library New York City Book Award. |
