Bachelor of Science Degree in Neuroscience

Can a NSCI major do a minor in PSYC?
NO. Neuroscience majors may not minor in psychology

Can a NSCI major double-major in PSYC?
YES. Neuroscience majors may double-major in psychology. If you double major in the Psychology B.S., the double major is straightforward. If you double major in the Psychology B.A., then you will be earning a "double degree". Click here for details on the double degree.

University Requirements

English 110 Critical Reading and Writing (3cr, C- or better)
Multicultural Course (3cr, D- or better)
First Year Experience (0-3cr, C- or better)
Discovery Learning Experience (3cr, C- or better; required if you entered UD in 2005 or later). Special Note: PSYC365 has been approved as a DLE course. PSYC366 will be approved as a DLE course for now, but you will have to apply for permission to have a PSYC366 course count as DLE. For questions email martha@udel

College of Arts and Sciences Requirements

Foreign language up to 107 level (0-12cr, D- or better)

Second writing requirement (3cr, C- or better)
Appropriate writing courses are designated in each semester's Registration Booklet. Must complete 60 credits before you enroll.

Mathematics (3-4 cr)
Math 115, 117, or 241.
Special Note: MATH115 , MATH117, or MATH241 are prerequisites for the required PHYS201 and 202 courses. We strongly recommend that students who want to apply to medical school, and students who want to pursue computational neuroscience, take MATH241.

Breadth requirements (18cr total, D- or better)
In a group, you have to take courses in at least two different departments...for example, within Group A, you have to take courses in English and Theater departments, for example. And, cross listed courses do not help you here--e.g., a HIST/BAMS course counts as HIST).

Group A (Creative arts & humanities)...................................6
Group B (Cultures & institutions over time)...........................6
Group C (Humans & their environment)................................6
Group D (Natural phenomena; satisfied with NSCI course requirements)

Total Credits to Graduate:  124 (overall GPA minimum 2.0)
