Living in a Residence Hall for Fall & Taking a Class during Winter Session

As a student living in a traditional residence hall for fall or spring semester who has enrolled in a Winter Session course on the Newark campus, you will be automatically reassigned to your Fall Semester room for the appropriate Winter Session period.

You aren't required to live on campus for Winter Session, so if you don't plan to live on campus, you'll need to cancel your Winter Session application/assignment.

If you're taking an online course, you won't automatically be reassigned. If you want to live on campus, you'll need to complete a Winter 2018 housing application in the My Housing portal beginning November 1, 2017.

FYI: If you complete a mid-year room change, you'll live in your new room beginning with Winter Session. (Which also means that you'll need to move everything out of your room at the end of Fall semester.)

Learn more about room change procedures on our Room Change page.

You won't be charged for Winter Session housing. However, you need to purchase a full Winter Session meal plan. If you don't select a plan, you'll be assigned and billed for the default plan.

For more information about choosing a meal plan, visit Dining Services.
